The operator pays monthly for scheduling and billing, and pays a second, invisible price: the platform owns the client relationship. Discovery routes through the platform's marketplace. Client records live in the platform's shape. Leaving means losing the book of business that the operator built. Every demand these businesses have made for years — own my clients, brand my experience, price my way — failed not on difficulty but on the incumbents' incentive to keep the operator captive.

The rebuild

Stride Studios rebuilds the category's operating core from scratch on Bending Forks architecture, with ownership inverted by design. Scheduling, memberships, payments, and client communication are built around one principle: the client relationship belongs to the operator, structurally, not as a policy that a future pricing page can revise. The composability thesis applies literally — small owned systems at the edges where the studio's actual work happens, connected by a core the company controls, so no single dependency can hold the business hostage the way the incumbents did.

The launch

Launched at stridestudios.co as an operating system for wellness-based service businesses, positioned directly against the entrenched management platforms. The wedge is the incumbents' own customer base: operators who stayed for lack of an exit, not out of satisfaction. Against a landlord, the pitch writes itself — this one is yours.

Limits and honest notes

A live venture, recorded with the same restraint as the others: no outcome claims ahead of outcomes. The structural bet — that ownership inversion is the feature this category has actually been demanding — is stated here so it can be checked against what happens.
